Born and raised in the Monterey Peninsula, Mr. Yates and his family have lived in Marina since 1998.   Mr. Yates has competed in Taekwondo tournaments and exhibitions in California and has coached Monterey Bay Taekwondo’s Team MTA and our Demo Team since October 2010.  The sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from teaching and coaching, and seeing students develop both their mental and physical abilities are some of the reasons why Mr. Yates enjoys being a Taekwondo instructor.

 

Mr. Yates’ enthusiasm for Taekwondo continues as he now works towards his 3rd degree black belt under Master Jae Seong Lee, as well as through Master Lee’s ongoing Leadership Classes.
